The Classes 5A and 6A state volleyball tournaments begin Monday. Class 5A teams will square off at Heritage Hall while Class 6A is at Crossings Christian School.

Here is a look at six local players to watch:

Class 6A

Kamryn Bacus, Edmond North: One of the best hitters in the state, Bacus leads the Huskies with nearly 500 kills on the season. In the regional championship against Yukon, Bacus recorded 16 kills to lead the way.

Maci Milligan, Norman North: The senior setter steadies a balanced attack. The Timberwolves will rely on Milligan on this biggest stage to feed the team's powerful outside hitters.

Kaeli Robinson, Edmond Santa Fe: A ferocious outside hitter who has more than 300 kills on the season to lead the top-ranked team. Robinson leads a potent front-line attack for the defending Class 6A champ.

Class 5A

Courtney Brierley, Mount St. Mary: The junior is near the top of the rankings in several different categories. Brierley has 61 aces on the year as well as 21 blocks.

Hannah Grundy, Bishop McGuinness: The junior outside hitter is a force around the net. Grundy helps lead a dangerous attack that appears to be peaking at just the right time.

Karsyn Smith, Carl Albert: In her first year of varsity action, Smith has become a key cog to the Carl Albert attack. The sophomore leads the team in digs and assists from the libero position, helping the Titans reach the state tournament for the first time in three years.
